Information
  • NOAA retired its NAM in 2026. These maps are drawn from WOOF-NAM by Recast, a NAM-style 12-km model run four times a day (00, 06, 12, 18Z) on NOAA's NAM grid, CC BY 4.0. Not an official NOAA forecast.
  • Maps every hour to 36 h, then every 3 hours to 84 h. The newest cycle fills in as it is drawn; this page picks up new hours by itself.
  • LAGGED (6 RUNS) shows the current run beside the five before it, all valid at the same time: how the forecast for that moment has changed run to run.
  • SAVE LOOP makes an MP4 or GIF of what you are looking at, for all the frames or just a range, in your browser; SAVE IMAGE saves the map on screen, or the six lagged runs on one PNG. Nothing is uploaded.
  • A service of weathermodels.com. The maps are created from the NAM's 12-km grid (NCEP grid 218). WOOF-NAM posts no lightning or precipitation-type flags, so lightning is not drawn and the radar's type comes from the 2-m wet bulb.
